  • YOUR CAKES LOOK GOOD, BUT DO THEY TASTE GOOD TOO?

    So glad you asked! YES! Our cakes are made daily, in small batches using only high quality ingredients including real butter, milk, flour, sugar, eggs and fresh fruit made from scratch, with love, the Golden Sugar Bakery way! Our head cake designer, Sabrina is a CULINARY PASTRY CHEF who constantly tests and try new flavor combinations to ensure innovation and originality! Also, NO FROZEN STUFF HERE! So, YES! They do taste as good as they look!
  • I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. CAN YOU HELP?
    Yes, we offer a vegan cake flavors, and we are working on creating additional vegan desserts. Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer sugar free or gluten free desserts simply because we have not found recipes that we think are as amazing as our regular cakes. Sorry, but maybe some time in the future.
  • HOW MUCH DO YOUR CAKES COST?
    It’s impossible to offer a hard-and-fast price list, since each cake incorporates so many variables. Generally our cakes start at $225. We take into account the number of servings, the complexity of diverse design elements, and particulars important to the celebrants. Sometimes a smaller cake may take longer to create than a larger one, and therefore, it will be priced higher per slice (the basis for pricing used by most bakeries).
  • DO YOU HAVE A CATALOG WITH CAKES AND PRICES?
    Since all of our cakes are custom-made to individual specifications, no catalog per se is available. Our Web site is designed to give an introduction to our style and services. If you’ve spotted our cake online and would like to order the exact cake, feel free to upload the image above on your order form. Additionally, we are constantly updating our Instagram page and there you will also find pictures of a wide selection of our cakes.   • DO YOU SELL SHEET CAKES, READY-MADE CAKES OR “BASIC”/SIMPLE CAKES?

    Sheet cakes are ONLY offered with a custom cake order. WHY? Well, we pride ourselves on creating one-of-a-kind works of art, so NO, we do not offer “basic” cakes because that's just not our style. We work closely with you to make sure each “show stopping” cake is unique and reflects the recipient’s personality and sense of style. We create custom “centerpiece” cakes. Not basic cakes. Since we are a CUSTOM CAKE BAKERY, it is VERY RARE that we have grab-and-go cakes available. If we do, it will be holiday promotion that is advertised on our Instagram / Facebook pages!
  • WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
    Golden Sugar Bakery is a licensed home bakery located at 258 Craft Ave Rosedale New York 11422. Only curbside pick up is available at this location.
  • DO YOU SHIP CAKES OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK?
    We find that standard carriers cannot guarantee the safe transport of our cakes. The best method to deliver our cakes is by cold vans, and this service is available from New York City to most points on the East Coast. Long distance delivery is both extremely complicated and very costly. While we have flown our cakes to distant destinations, it is a highly complex process to engineer the delivery via a private or chartered plane. Additionally, most designs require the presence of a staff member who must assemble the cake on-site.
  • DO YOU DELIVER?
    Yes, we deliver to all five boroughs in New York, including Long Island, Staten Island. We also deliver to Washing DC, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Upstate New York. We also hand deliver by flying to your destination, please note, this can be extremely costly. *Minimum order for delivery is $200. Delivery starts at $45. Price of delivery is based on location.You can CON- TACT US, with details regarding your event and we can send you a quote.
  • DO YOU OFFER CAKE TASTINGS?
    Due to our extremely busy schedule, we have temporarily suspended in-person cake tastings. However, cake tasting boxes are available for pick up seasonally. Please follow us on Instagram @goldensugarbakery.nyc for updates on our cake tasting boxes.
  • 4-6 WEEKS!? ARE YOU CRAZY!?
    Trust us, we are IN BUSINESS to help serve as many customers as humanly possible. HOWEVER, 1. We ARE HUMANS, and there are only so many hours in the day. 2. We specialize in over-the-top EDIBLE ART! So generally speaking, people who book with us are usually planning parties/events well ahead of time! (NOT at the last minute.) We love you, and would be HONORED to create a cake for you. But don't be mad at us if you wait until the last minute, or want a "SIMPLE CAKE", because we're booked. We take all the orders we can fit into our production schedule. If we're booked, it just simply means other people DID NOT wait until the last minute. ALSO, we have specialty cakes that can be purchased for last minute orders!
  • HOW LONG WILL YOU TAKE TO GET BACK TO ME?
    We will review your submission and get back to you within 48 business hours. For faster service, you can TEXT US Monday -Thursday from 10AM-6:00PM at 516-518-2253. Remember, we are closed on Sundays. If were not too busy, we'll get back to you sooner !
  • HOW DO I ORDER A CUSTOM CAKE?
    Through our Website. Please fill out and submit a "Order Form" through our website, www.goldensugarbakery.com. If your event is fast approaching, please feel free to TEXT our head cake designer directly at: 516-518-2253. Please mention your name and event date while doing so then we'll get back to you within 3-5 business hours. Through our Social Feeds. Please click the link in our bio to fill out and submit a "Order Form" form. If your event is fast approaching, please feel free to TEXT our head cake designer directly at: 516-518-2253. Please mention your name and event date while doing so then we'll get back to you within 24 hours. Please do not DM @goldensugarbakery.nyc as our DM inbox is not regularly monitored and our ability to accept order is limited. Either way, we'll need ALL the details regarding your event in order to provide you with a quote. (Date, time, theme, colors, flavors, amount of servings needed, and any ideas or pictures you have for reference.)
  • WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY CAKE?
    A cake order should be placed as soon as you have finalized all the details of your event (colors, theme, design, amount of servings, etc.). Since we are usually booked a few weeks (or sometimes months) in advance, we do encourage early ordering. (4-6 weeks advance notice is recommended, but we’re be happy to fit you in whenever our schedule permits.)
  • DO YOU HAVE A RETAIL STORE WHERE I CAN WALK IN AND PURCHASE CUPCAKES OR VIEW YOUR WORK?
    At Golden Sugar Bakery, we operate as a licensed home bakery, which unfortunately means we are not open to the public for walk-in visits. This is in accordance with state guidelines. However, despite not having a physical store, we pride ourselves on offering a personalized and exceptional experience. Our approach involves crafting small batches of cakes daily, all made to order. We're dedicated to maintaining high standards that are equal to, if not surpassing, those of traditional storefront bakeries. For your convenience, we offer curb-side pickup for all of our offerings including cake tastings and delivery services to locations within New York and its surrounding states.   • WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT POLICY?
    After we discuss the details of your event and decide on a cake that you like, if you are interested in booking and would like to proceed, we would require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your date.The remaining balance must be paid in full two weeks prior to your event.The balance and deposit are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFER- ABLE, meaning you can NOT cancel one date and then change it for another.
  • WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
    We accept all credit cards, Zelle and Cashapp. For your protection, we do NOT process credit card orders over the phone. However, for your convenience, we can email you an invoice for you to pay online.
  • IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED
TO PLACE AN ORDER?
    Yes. We require a non-refundable 50% deposit to book your order. If your balance is not paid IN FULL two weeks prior to your event, you forfeit your deposit, and risk not being accommodated.
  • WHY IS IT NON-REFUNDABLE?
    Because remember when we told you we BOOK UP often? Well there would be NO WAY for us to go back and get all of the customers we said NO to, to backfill YOUR SPOT if you decide to cancel your order. Your deposit ensures availability FOR YOU and we manage our entire team and production schedule based on YOUR ORDER once you book it.
  • WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/ CANCELLATION POLICY?

    A non-refundable deposit of 50% is due upon order placement. Balance is due in full two-week prior to your event. If an order is not picked up on the day of delivery or delivery is denied, the client is still responsible for the full balance of the order.We will make every attempt to contact you in the event of a missed pickup or denied delivery. If a cancellation is made less than one week prior to your event, the balance is still due in full. *Please understand that when you book an order, we decline other orders. If you cancel, that could result in thousands of dollars lost, just to accommodate your order (obviously, whether you cancel or not). IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION: 1. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing. 2. If a cancellation is received, your deposit will not be refundable. 3. If a cancellation is received less than one week prior to the promised delivery/pickup date, the full balance is still the client’s responsibility. We hope that we've answered all your questions!
